Super Yum - Mission Minis

So I first saw Mission Minis on the show Cupcake Wars on The Food Network. I really do love that show and I always want to try all of the cupcakes that are on the show so I got really excited to know that one of the contestants had a local shop. Each little mini cupcake is $1.00. I bought 12 so I can let my family try them out. I was reading different Yelp reviews and could not wait to try the Cinnamon Horchata flavor. I got there pretty late so they were already sold out of the Swiss Almond Coconut one that my boyfriend really wanted to try. Bummer. It's ok it makes for another trip! I loved the Horchata cupcake. I am not a big fan of cream cheese frosting though. I recommend for any fellow San Franciscan to try this place out! Really good noms!

Nails of The Day - OPI Significant Other Color

OPI's Significant Other Color is a really pretty iridescent polish. A purple mixed with pink and gold reflects that is sure to catch peoples attention. I got this color from the promo that Ulta had going on the other day. My boyfriend said that he does not like this color on me. Hmm I guess he just chose a new color for me to sneak and paint his toe nails with when he is sleeping.

Ahhh so I caved in and bought the Urban Decay Naked Palette. It took a lot of thought and after many swatches I realized that I wear a lot of these color on a daily basis so this is a perfect palette. It also comes with a cute travel size Primer Potion which is always a plus. I also took advantage of the Buy Two Nail Polish Get One Free offer that Ulta has going on. The colors pictures from right to left are Princesses Rule, Cozu-Melted In The Sun, and Significant Other Color. I can not wait to try them all on! Of course they will be featured on my nails of the day some time in the future.

Do you just love turquoise? It is such a beautiful color and turquoise jewelry is always so flattering. I have been wanting this color for a while but it has always been sold out. Luckily I found it at my local ULTA the other day. I love wearing it bare but I decided to add some Sally Hansen's Disco Ball on top pictured in the second picture.  My boyfriend and I woke up extra early the other day and got Zoe all dressed up to take pictures with the Easter Bunny. The pictures were a complete success and we got a perfect one with Zoe smiling! It was a perfect shopping day. We went around a few malls and my ever so patient boyfriend let Zoe and I spend a long time at our favorite beauty stores!

First stop, MAC Cosmetics. I brought 12 empty MAC products to recycle for Back 2 MAC. I always have the hardest time choosing lipsticks but I chose the two that I thought would be perfect for everyday use. I chose Cherish a Satin Lipstick & Angel a Frost Lipstick

 Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25

I was also excited to use my 15% off V.I.B Sephora Coupon. I wish I would of gotten more stuff but Zoe was ready for a nap and I didn't want to spend long in the store. I have read a lot of good reviews about the Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25. It is supposed to be for men but who cares right? I tried making my boyfriend use it but that was a bust. I love it so much! I got the Lemon & Chamomile flavor. It makes my lips feel so good! I highly recommend! I also got my 87289 bottle of Urban Decay Primer Potion. An essential item I must say. I was also circling the Tweezerman section like a shark. I really really want to buy the Betsey Johnson Marilyn Monroe Tweezers but I am a bit skeptical at a $25 price tag. Is tweezerman tweezers really that good? I am in search of the perfect tweezer. I better research some more before I take the plunge.

Nails of The Day - Zoya Faye

Quick post! I took this quick snapshot of my nails from my phone because I know I wont have a chance to take a pic before they start to chip. I really do love Zoya nail polish. I got this color in their Buy One Get One Free Sale! Oooh which reminds me that I need to post pics of all of the goodies that I got from that sale! This color is called Faye and I like to describe it as a purple sherbet color! I am trying out a new top coat. It's from a brand called Seche Vite and I heard a lot of good reviews so I am giving it a try. So far so good. I have a bad habit of using my nails to open everything and I know that is a big no-no in basic nail care. Ugh I caught a cold and I have a hectic schedule this week and I am really not looking forward to this. Ok Zoe is trying to use the keyboard as her personal piano right now so I guess that is a sign to cut this short.

Nails of The Day - OPI Jade is The New Black

Please excuse my un-manicured nails! I wore these nails for the longest time and I think this color has got me the most compliments! Jade is the new black from OPI is definitely one of my favorite colors now. I usually always wear mostly black and it really added a nice accent to my daily wardrobe.
Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Zoe has started her solid foods and teething so after work has just been Zoe time! I took her pictures with the Easter bunny yesterday and it was so much fun to see her laugh. I really wanted to get her ears pierced but her Dad was not on board and we always make sure we are both 100% ok with our decisions so for now it is a no go. :(

Ok I am going to be very bold and state that I need to start getting healthy. I feel like such a sloth. After I had Zoe I would run everyday and I lost all of my baby weight and more. I felt so much healthier and alive! Ever since I went back to work it has been hard finding time to work out. I feel so guilty leaving Zoe for 8 hours + so I just want to spend all my time with her when I come home. I still have not given into temptation and drink soda. I have been Soda-Free since Nov. 2010 yay! But I still feel like I am eating like a pig. I gained all my weight back and I really feel down. I need to stop looking at that number on the scale and start doing this for a healthier Shannyn. I don't want to be the tired mom that can't keep up with her kid. I need to set an example for my daughter. As of today I will start eating better and find time to squeeze in a run here and there. I have to do this! I will be checking in from time to time to let you all know of my progress to a healthier lifestyle. I feel better putting this out there in public. That way I can know that I am setting my goal and I need to stick to it! Here is my "Before" picture. I wore this when I went to WonderCon and I felt so huge and bloated the entire day!

New Makeup Storage!

I am beyond excited. I went to Ikea eons ago and my boyfriend purchased me the Malm 6 Drawer Chest so I can store all of my makeup, nailpolish, jewelry etc.. and it has just been sitting in the box forever! I would bug my boyfriend at least once a week but it he never had time to build it. So we were both off of work today and he had a chance to finally assemble it! Can I say how much I love this drawer? They sell it for $149.99. It is worth it! I am going to buy the whole Malm series of furniture once we move to a bigger place. I finally feel organized with my makeup! I started putting some of my makeup already in there. I still have ways to go but it's coming along!
