2014 was a year that I started to explore different skin care products and was consistent in taking care of my skin. First, I would like to give you some background on my skin type. I have combination-oily skin primarily oily around my T-Zone. I tend to have my occasional break outs here and there. I do suffer from Psoriasis so there are times when I get my random dry patch around my face. These products were clear standouts in my year of exploring skin care.
Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream - This light weight eye cream is perfect to wear underneath my concealer. I have always had issues with concealer crease lines and realized that adding an eye cream was the first crucial step that I was missing. This eye cream absorbs quickly, keeps the eye hydrated and improves the longevity of my makeup.
Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Intensive Eye Cream - I must admit it took me a while to finally take the plunge on this eye cream. I sampled it a few times at Sephora and decided that I was falling in love. I wish I could wear this eye cream in the morning but due to its ultra rich texture it would not work well with my daily make up routine. Eye creams are essential to start using in your 20s so I decided to start taking care of those pesky lines before they became hard to deal with.
Murad Skin Pore Reform Smoothing Polish - This creamy polishing scrub helps tame my clogged pores and blackheads. My most problematic area is around my nose and this scrub has literally help shrink my pores and minimize my black heads. My skin feels rejuvenated and does not feel stripped of any moisture. I use this twice a week and have noticed a different in oil production around my T-Zone.
Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Vitamin C Collagen Booster - Where do I begin with this gem? I have gone through 3 bottles this year and will continue to incorporate this serum for many years to come. We know with Vitamin C we get BLT, Brightening Lightening and Tightening. The yummy citrus scent and cooling feeling of this serum when it touches my freshly cleansed is so soothing. I use this serum in the AM and PM. It helps brighten up my complexion and has significantly lighten a few post acne spots that I have had over time.
Perricone MD Chloro Plasma Mask - The Chloro Plasma Mask won my trial of "Battle of The Masks" this revitalizing mask uses Chlorophyll to soothe and hydrate, detoxifies and is loaded with anti-aging benefits. Within the first application I noticed a boost in my skins overall natural radiance and received compliments on a "natural glow" that I had the very next day. My skin feels incredibly soft, helps with inflammation around my blemishes and minimizes my pores.
Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation - This light weight moisturizer is extremely nourishing and allows for a smooth and even make up application. With my combination skin it was a bit difficult finding a moisturizer that was not too rich that would make my make up cake up or fade. It helps fade dark spots, controls oil production and prevents premature signs of aging. I use this moisturizer on a variety of clients and they instantly fall in love with the light weight texture and instant hydration.
Peter Thomas Roth FIRMx Firming Night Moisturizer - I call this my "botox in a jar". It is quite rich in texture but provides me with the best hydration that I need at night. This PM moisturizer helps firm and hydrate. My skin looks instantly 10x more smooth and it feels like my skin just drank a nice cold cup of water. My main concern are the smile lines around my face and this moisturizer helps smooth and plump and tiny lines that I may have. It's a bit on the pricier side but a tiny bit of product definitely goes a long way. I love how my skin looks and feels while using this moisturizer from Peter Thomas Roth.
I am excited to read what were some of your Skin Care Favorites of 2014.
